The grit guard is the most important barrier between harmful dirt and your precious paint. When you dip your dirty wash mitt into the bucket after washing a panel and rub it over the guard, sand and dirt particles fall through the grid to the bottom. The special fins under the guard break up the swirling motion of the water. This keeps the dirt settled at the bottom instead of floating back up into your clean wash water, so your wash mitt stays truly clean every time you dip it.

The Bucket Deal is put together to give you the safest wash routine in one go. Following the two-bucket method, you use one bucket filled with car shampoo and a separate bucket with just clean water for rinsing, both fitted with a grit guard. After washing a panel, you first rinse the wash mitt thoroughly in the rinse bucket to release the sand. Only then do you dip back into the fresh, clean shampoo bucket. This prevents you from rubbing the sand straight back over the paint.

A standard household bucket, with a capacity of around 10 liters, is simply too small to safely wash a car. The water already becomes saturated with dirt and sand after just a few panels. Our 20-liter Wash Bucket offers more than twice the water volume. This dilutes the loosened dirt to a much greater degree, keeping your wash water clean for far longer. On top of that, the large size means our professional grit guards fit perfectly at the bottom for optimal protection of your paint.
